I ventured into the AY Southside studio shortly after getting married. The one thing I knew was that I needed something different in my "workout" routine. I tried other types of yoga in the past, but more for the purpose of nursing injuries or taking a break from running. Once I took my first AY class I was hooked! The physical nature of vinyasa was challenging, but what kept me coming back was something I never expected. I felt strong, yet calm and peaceful. I learned to listen to my body and pay attention to my breath.  That feeling "flowed" into my personal and professional life! Through the chaos of life, I found a stillness, a quietness that always existed.

I took Level 1 Pittsburgh in January 2013 and completed Level 2 July 2013 in Costa Rica. I went into Level 1 with the purpose of deepening my practice. I left with that and a desire to share this practice with everyone I met. I hope that through teaching I can provide my students with the ability to let go of a little bit of their personal heaviness and find peace in their hearts! I feel so grateful to the entire AY team for offering a part of themselves in every class.

I graduated from Penn State in 2001 and Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2005. I have been married for almost 5 years to my husband, Ron, and have a 6-month-old daughter. When not on my mat practicing, you can find me dancing in the kitchen with my daughter, laughing with my husband Ron, or seeing patients in the South Side!
