My relationship with yoga began in January of 2012. I was looking for a practice that would keep me in shape and offer some much needed time for self-reflection. I was in the midst of navigating a new job, the loss of a loved one, a new apartment, and a difficult time in my love life. A friend recommended that I try a class at AY. I was new to yoga and had no idea what to expect. After my first class, I was hooked.
The physical benefits of yoga cannot be denied and the emotional benefits are transformative. Within a few brief months, I was in the best shape of my life, and was more in touch with myself than I had ever been. Four years later, when Sean offered to bring me on as a manager, I couldn’t have been more grateful. AY has become a huge part of my life and my practice inspires me every day. Yoga has taught me to listen to body and not just my mind, to be patient, and most importantly, to let go.
When I’m not on my mat, I work as a visual artist and digital marketing strategist. I love to travel, cook, read and listen to techno.
